Upgrading an existing JewelSuite Floating license server to a newer version

To upgrade your license server to a newer version you need to stop the existing license server. The JewelSuite licenses will be unavailable during the upgrade process. Follow the steps below:

1. Logon to the server that is hosting the JewelSuite licenses.
2. Browse to the currently installed JewelSuite license server and run lmtools.exe.
3. Select the JewelSuite license server from the Service/License File tab.
4. Go to the Start/Stop/Reread tab and choose to stop the service. If the service fails to stop, you may need to select the 'Force Server Shutdown' checkbox.
5. Go to the Config Services tab, make sure the JewelSuite license server is selected.
6. Uncheck the 'Start Server at Power Up' checkbox and click Save Service.
7. The existing JewelSuite license server is now stopped and disabled, it can be removed once the new license server is active.
8. Follow the instructions as described in the Installing the JewelSuite Floating License Server to setup the new license server

It is recommended to use a different folder than is currently used for the old JewelSuite license server.
